As I am working on an upgraded WordPress website for a client – moving an older, outdated theme to a sparkling new customized Genesis theme – I came across two new VERY handy plugins I wanted to share.
1. THE DUPLICATOR
This plugin is not for the novice user. If you’re a more advanced user, however, this plugin will nicely package up your existing WordPress, including the database, allow you to save a copy onto your hard drive, upload it into your new location, unpackage and install it COMPLETELY. Time saved: HOURS!
2. SEO DATA TRANSPORTER
The old version of this clients’ website used the All In One SEO plugin – a very functional plugin indeed, however, Genesis has SEO functions already built into the framework. I was worried I’d have to reenter all the SEO data. FEAR NOT! The SEO Data Transporter plugin easily converted the data from one format to the other in a matter of seconds. Time Saved: DAYS!
